Tammy Garceau, LICSW, CIMI 

Clinical Director and Founder

Tammy Garceau is a graduate of Boston College School of Social Work, and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Tammy is skilled in treating depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, divorce and loss challenges, post-partum depression, ADHD and attachment challenges, as well as behavioral concerns in children and adolescents. She is a Level I and II Certified EMDR Therapist and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. In addition to private practice, Ms. Garceau gained valuable experience as a public school social worker, coordinating a clinical transition program, and as the Clinical Supervisor for a day treatment program for emotionally and behaviorally challenged populations, as well as serving as a Mental Health Manager for an Early Head Start, Head Start, and GED program. Tammy is a member of The National Association of Social Workers, and was a presenter at an NASW Convention on the topic of Infant and Maternal Mental Health. She served on The Board of Directors for The RI Association for Infant Mental Health, and presented at The New England Head Start Annual Conference, highlighting successful approaches to incorporating behavioral health programs into school environments. As a member of For Our Children Under Six Task Force, she was awarded The Carol Prendergast Award. In 2023, she was training in The Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Treatment Protocol by The Yale Child Study Center. Tammy utilizes a strength-based, cognitive-behavioral approach to her practice. She believes in developing positive, trusting, and productive counseling relationships with her clients, as they strive to reach their personal goals and overall wellness. Yolanda Gabrielle, M.A. LICSW

Yolanda Gabrielle is a graduate of Simmons College, Boston, Ma. and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Yolanda specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, including postpartum depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, co-dependency, and stress management. She has expertise in working with couples as well as individuals; serving older adolescents and adults. Yolanda has also worked in various clinical settings including inpatient, partial hospital and outpatient mental health. In her present practice, Yolanda uses Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy approaches in the treatment of adults and families. Yolanda's clients are diverse -- some are involved in difficult relationships with family, spouses or loved ones. Some are women and couples who are struggling with perinatal depression. Some are people with fears and concerns that may be rooted in a difficult childhood and interferes with their personal and professional lives. And some are people who simply want an objective voice to help them toward a better sense of who they are and who they want to be. Catherine Grimm, LMHC

Catherine Grimm is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Rhode Island. She obtained a Masters degree from the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at Rhode Island College as well as a BA in Psychology from Providence College. Cate works with individuals to address and alleviate the symptoms of their particular mental health disorder including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD and sleep disorders. She also has experience in dual diagnosis having worked at CODAC Behavioral Health for several years. Couples therapy is also provided to improve communication or enhance intimacy. Other couple's issues include infidelity," emotional affairs", unmet needs and coparenting. She engages in family therapy to assist children, teens and their parents as they work to improve their quality of life after divorce or loss, create a blended family, or tackle behavioral or substance abuse issues that erode the family system. Cate has previous experience in facilitating support groups such as early recovery and women's issues. Cate utilizes Rational Emotive Therapy to raise her clients level of awareness in order to improve their behaviors. Insurances accepted Blue Cross, United, Neighborhood, and Tufts. Melissa Monroe, PsyD, LICSW

Melissa Monroe is a graduate of Fairfield University and the University of Utah and is a licensed independent clinical social worker in the state of Rhode Island.  She also holds a doctorate in psychology from Southern California University and did extensive research and graduate field studies in marine biology and developmental genetics at Florida Atlantic University and Rhode Island College.  Melissa specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting skills, stress management, and self actualization.  She is a certified reiki master teacher and integrated energy therapist but has particular interests and experience in the healing arts, in particular the use of movement/dance therapy, expressive writing, storytelling and yoga for integrative healing.  She has published two children’s books, “Wishes and Whims: Poems for the Wondrous Child” and “Leaves in a breeze: Poems for all kids”,  and is currently working on her third book of poetry. Melissa Grifka, LMFT

Melissa Grifka is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and a graduate of The University of Rhode Island with her Master's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies.  She has over 20 years' experience working with adolescents, adults, and families who struggle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional regulation issues, relationship issues, substance/alcohol use, ADHD, trauma, and grief.  Melissa has a diverse range of experience to include providing home based therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and their families, school based counseling, hospital based psychiatric evaluations, and experience working in a federal prison.  Melissa has been working in the private practice setting for over 10 years.  Through a variety of modalities such as DBT, CBT, strength based and many others, Melissa will find a person-centered, collaborative therapy effective for you.  She believes the most important part of therapy is having a connection and feeling comfortable with your therapist.  Her goal is to create a safe, comfortable, judgement free space for you to explore and examine aspects of your life that are causing distress.  Melissa is authentic and creates a warm and comfortable space to talk.  She feels therapy is an opportunity to heal the connection to self and others.  Together you will identify goals and strengths to empower you to make lasting changes and help create inner peace and balance.  Insurances accepted are Blue Cross and United.  Private pay and sliding scale are also available.  Melissa can be reached at 401-487-1600. 

Kristen Taylor  MA-CCC SLP 
Pediatric Speech and Language Therapy

Kristen Taylor (she/her/hers), the Owner and Speech Language Pathologist of Acorn Therapy Solutions offers 15 years of experience with the pediatric population. Kristen graduated with her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. She started her career as a speech-language pathologist working in a public school system in Dayton, Ohio supporting students with communication and complex medical needs, including those using speech generating devices. Her next adventure included traveling as a speech-language pathologist, which created opportunities for her to work with children in the New England area. During this time she fell in love with Rhode Island. Over the past several years she has worked at Meeting Street with infants and toddlers enrolled in early intervention, worked with school-aged children in public school systems, and served at a private school specializing in teaching children with autism spectrum disorder and other pervasive development disorders. Her time at Meeting Street also included sitting on a consulting team of providers for families who were in need of support as they navigated through finding ways to communicate with their child. This included the use of symbols, systems, devices and supporting families with the initial diagnosis of disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. She was also a consulting clinician for United Cerebral Palsy in Rhode Island for children and families needing support in how to increase overall communication skills. In 2019, Kristen opened Taylor’d Pediatric Therapy, LLC., which is now Acorn Therapy Solutions, and includes Occupational Therapy services. She has a passion for working with children who have difficulties with speech sound disorders including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), phonological disorders, and other speech sound errors including the correction of lisps.
